Sundown is the second solo studio album by singer Eddie Chacon. Produced by John Carroll Kirby, it was released on March 31, 2023, on Stones Throw Records.

The cover was designed by Justin Sloane, using a photo by Jack McKain and Sloane’s own Notre Ami. This typeface is an ongoing exploration inspired by the cover lettering of the book Notre ami Louis Jou from 1929. It’s used for the title as well as a sort of logotype, with swashy caps and a nested Ch pair. The supporting sans is unidentified, and possibly another work in progress by Sloane.

Read more about the album in the reviews by Margeaux Labat for Pitchfork and by Alexis Petridis for the Guardian.
