The movie Dovbush was originally scheduled to premiere on May 12, 2022. However, all plans were disrupted by the war.
“Today, our resilience astonishes almost the entire civilized world. Our Dovbush is a timely film about love, freedom, and the right to remain masters of our land, which has taken on new meaning with the onset of the war” said the director, co-writer, and co-producer of the film, Oles Sanin.
The film premiere did take place in August 2023, with screenings in both Ukraine and European countries. The film received numerous positive reviews from both viewers and critics. It was also novelized, and the book presentation took place on September 9th at the Kyivbookfest Book Festival.
Additionally, interactive exhibitions about the making of the film were opened for the audience and enthusiasts. Clothing collections and branded merchandise were also released.
To design the film's title and posters, the fonts Vernyhora by Bohdan Hdal and Copperplate Gothic were used.
