University of Ljubljana : 100 years : 1919-2019 : freedom of the spirit, is a monograph of the centenary history of the first Slovenian university.

From the essay by university rector Igor Papič:

The release of the monograph belongs to the list of events celebrating the centenary of the university. The main content is a historical overview of what is happening at the university, but it is also an opportunity to look into the future, to see what the future forms of universities will be, not only in the national context, but also more widely.

The book is designed by Jernej Kejžar and set with Univerza Sans, designed by Alja Herlah and published by Type Salon. The version of Univerza Sans in use here is a beta version (at that time not yet released). In the final retail version of the typeface family, one can notice some design refinements on the italic, compared with the version used here.

Božo Pepe writes:

The history of the university thus moves somewhere between the issue of national identity and the role it plays in its creation, preservation and development, between the universality of science and university autonomy, i.e. the right to free creation and freedom of spirit, as is also the title of the monograph.
