In the words of Mike Parker, Ultra Bodoni (1928) is the result of Morris Fuller Benton working out the dramatics of the English Fat Face, starting from a Bruce Foundry recutting. ATF’s “headline spectacular” is used in roman and italic for an album by Tennessee Ernie Ford (1919–1991) with songs from the American Civil War, released by Capitol Records in 1961. Ford also recorded an album with Songs of the South, with a similar design.
