Poster campaign for the 2024 graduation exhibition of the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. Designers Katherina Gorodynska and Jan Egbers started out from looking at weather maps, and ended up developing a typographic system of (mis)direction, inviting visitors to meander and get sidetracked in the show. On the posters, the names of the different Sandberg MA programmes are cut up and rearranged, suggesting new departments for study. All text is set in Gauche, a typeface Jan developed together with Céline Hurka, making full use of the typeface’s baseline-shifted italic and the “fancy” numerals provided via an OpenType feature.
