Pearl Bailey’s The Raw Pearl was originally published by Harcourt, Brace & World in 1968, see Garrison’s contribution about the first edition with West Behemoth Italic on the book jacket.

Shown here is a 1971 paperback edition by Pocket Books. It features another bold italic with swashes, likewise from the catalog of Photo-Lettering: this time it’s Cooper Nouveau Swash 10 by Dave West.
