From Wikipedia:

Pump Up the Volume is a 1990 coming-of-age teen drama film written and directed by Allan Moyle. The film stars Christian Slater, Scott Paulin, Ellen Greene, and Samantha Mathis.

The poster uses Helvetica – horizontally stretched and tightly spaced – for the taglines, Christian Slater’s credit, the “Music by” section, and “Pump Up the,” while Franklin Gothic is used with overlapping letters for “Volume.”" The credit block is set in Modula Sans.

The soundtrack album uses mostly the same type treatments, with the addition of Univers 49 Light Ultra Condensed for the song names. Georgopoulos Design is credited with design on the album, with Jeff Adamoff for the art direction, so they may also be responsible for the poster.
