This science fiction anthology by Harry Harrison was first published in 1973 by Walker & Co. under the title Nova 3. For Dell’s paperback edition from 1975, it was renamed to The Outdated Man.

The unnamed typographer specified a chromatic setting of Accelera, with alternating colors for the triple shadow. The geometric sans is Vogue. This typographic chameleon by Intertype came with various stylistic alternates, many of which emulated characteristics of other typefaces. In this application we get to see forms that bring it closer to Kabel and Futura.

The cover art with the phallic city under attack is by Carl Lundgren.
