Visual identity designed for the exhibition L’histoire est dépeinte par les vainqueurs (in English “History is Painted by the Victors” and in Cree “pihci nâway sapikahamwak kâ-paskiyâkêcik”) showing works by Kent Monkman, an internationally acclaimed artist and member of the ôcêkwi sîpiy (Fisher River Cree Nation), known for his bold reinterpretations of history painting. Bringing together over forty monumental works, the exhibition explores the complexity of Indigenous experiences through themes such as colonization, climate crisis, and 2ELGBTQIA+ representation.
The branding blends royal and contemporary aesthetics, while Octave embodies the tension between heritage and renewal, lending the whole a lyrical and timeless presence.
