From the back cover:

As the luxury liner Reina del pacifico swept through the tropical nights of the Indian Ocean a handsome young sailor would sometimes sing to her wealthy passengers as they lingered on the deck.
‘You are wasting your time as a sailor,’ the passengers would tell him. ‘Turn professional singer young man. You will go a long way.’

Johnny Gentle (1936–2024) made a small career as a solo recording artist; his biggest claim to fame is the fact that he toured with The Silver Beetles as a backing band in Scotland, 1960 – the Beetles would later become world famous as The Beatles.

This EP record was released in the same year, with two songs on each side. Cover typography uses Klang; the back cover uses Amsterdamer Garamont for headers, with body text set in Times New Roman and info set in Gill Sans, (which would grow to be Philips’ brand typeface).
