Scottish branding studio ilka has unveiled a bold new identity that redefines what it means to be a purpose-driven creative practice in 2025.

Founded by Laura Service and Lisa Henderson, the female-led studio has built a reputation for combining thoughtful, strategic branding with a deep sense of social and environmental responsibility, drawing inspiration from their native Scotland. Now, nearly ten years in, ilka is taking that commitment one step further, moving beyond sustainability toward something more ambitious: regeneration.

Visually, the identity practices what we preach, reflecting ilka’s belief in beauty grounded by purpose: a logomark inspired by natural rhythms, a typeface that is timeless and functional (Season Sans and Serif by Displaay Type Foundry), and a tactile photography style that connects design to the endlessly surprising world around it.
