Companion is a magazine by Gail’s Bakery, exploring food, history, nature, and craft through essays, stories, recipes, and art. Number 1, “The Bread Issue”, delves into wheat’s terroir, recipes for leftover bread, baking in prisons, the visual beauty of a regenerative wheat farm, and many more inspiring tales.

The layouts are graphic and playful, featuring mostly Sprig from body copy to titles and Basis Grotesque for some typographic highlights.
