Colours of Africa is a digital exhibition featuring 60 African artists and was released on Google Arts & Culture, in collaboration with Design Indaba. The project aims to help elevate African culture, design, and creativity. The exhibition showcases artists from different disciplines, from architecture, painting and ceramics to writing, engineering, and the performing arts. The theme of the exhibition is colour. Each artist was invited to select a colour and create an original piece of art to represent their country and express what it means to be African.

The main typeface is Movement, a variable font inspired by dance movement, and originally designed as a custom typeface for Design Indaba’s 2019 conference. In this project, its Direct style is used which is angular, in contrast to the round Indirect style.
