Would like to negotiate for the use of a parlor sofa to-morrow night. NO lights required.
C-122-11.

This is a postcard addressed on the other side to Miss Hazel Mentzer, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and postmarked in Brainerd, Minnesota, in May 1910 (the numeral for the day is smudged). Handwritten message:

How are you coming along with the pipe organ, come up this summer and I will show you the lakes & go out riding in the autos here. I am, respectively {i.e., respectfully], R.E.H., Brainerd, Minn.

For another postcard that mentions a sofa and a darkened parlor, see Invitation Card—Come and See Our New Lamp.

For one that uses the same typeface (Harquil) and has a similar design, see Please Send Home That Shirt You Borrowed.
